About this race
The Merrell Whale of Trail is a trail running event held at De Hoop Nature Reserve, one of South Africa's most scenic locations and the world's best land-based whale watching spot. The event offers three race options: a 53km Ultra Trail Run, a 35km Trail Run, and the Whale Journey (a 2-day version of the 53km route with 3 nights of catered accommodation for a maximum of 12 participants). Races take place along the iconic Whale Trail Hiking Route within the De Hoop Marine Reserve.
